Florence-Graham, Los Angeles County, CA: A driver was trapped in a damaged vehicle after crashing into a fire hydrant late Monday night.
The single-vehicle crash occurred around 11:51 p.m., May 29, on South Holmes and Gage Avenues in the city of Florence-Graham.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies arrived at the location of the reported collision and found one patient trapped inside a vehicle that struck a fire hydrant causing it to shear and gush water.
Firefighters succeeded in extricating the driver by cutting off the roof of the car to access the patient.
The patient was transported in unknown condition by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
