Solo Vehicle Crash Into Power Pole Causes Outage in Echo Park

ECHO PARK, LOS ANGELES, June 22 (KNN) – A solo vehicle crash sheared a power pole Thursday night at approximately 11:24 p.m. causing a large power outage in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The incident occurred on the 1300 block of West Sunset Boulevard, just east of Vin Scully Avenue. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded along with Los Angeles Police Department’s Rampart Division units.

A single red sports car was visible in the middle of the road after colliding with and shearing a power pole on the south side of the street.

Two people were observed being interviewed by police who are possibly a driver and passenger, per LAPD off camera.

Both occupants of the vehicle were released at scene, and the collision is currently under investigation.

It is unknown at this time if the incident is alcohol related. Speed is a possible factor.
