WHITTIER, Calif., Apr. 5 (KNN) — A thirsty suspect stopped to gulp down a drink inside an AM/PM mini market while being pursued by authorities late Thursday night.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and fire department responded to a stabbing victim shortly after 11:30 p.m. in the 6200 block of Pioneer Boulevard in the city of Whittier.
It is unknown at this time if the victim was transported to a hospital or was treated and cleared at the scene.
An LASD airship located the alleged suspect running on the bike path near the riverbed just west of Pioneer Boulevard and south of Whittier Boulevard.
The suspect jumped the wall onto Whittier Boulevard and ran into an AM/PM mini market at the Arco gas station in the 12100 block of Whittier. A sheriff’s deputy was right behind the suspect when the suspect closed the door on the deputy and ran into the store.
The suspect was seen drinking before multiple deputies and Whittier Police Department officers arrived at the scene and placed the suspect into custody inside the market.
