Stolen Vehicle Pursuit Ends in Fiery Crash on 710 Freeway in Long Beach

LONG BEACH, Calif., May 14 (KNN) — A pursuit of a vehicle ended in a fiery crash involving a big rig on the 710 Freeway late Monday night in the city of Long Beach.

The Long Beach Police Department was in pursuit of a stolen Kia Optima around 10:30 p.m. when it collided with a big rig on the northbound 710 Freeway at Anaheim Street. Both vehicles erupted into flames during the collision.

Officers at the scene pulled the suspect from the burning vehicle.

The Long Beach Fire Department arrived at the scene, knocked down the flames and transported multiple victims to a local hospital. The exact number of victims is currently unknown at this time.

The collision interrupted traffic, resulting in full closure of all northbound lanes of the 710 Freeway at Anaheim Street.
