LOS ANGELES, Nov. 1 (KNN) — A suspect, allegedly responsible for two murders in Los Angeles on Tuesday, walked into a Los Angeles Police Station and was subsequently taken into custody.
The LAPD’s West Bureau Homicide detectives are investigating two connected shootings that left a 43-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman dead, according to the LAPD.
The first incident involving the male victim occurred around 4:20 p.m. Oct. 29, in the 900 block of South Victoria Avenue in the Mid-Wilshire area of Los Angeles. LAPD Wilshire Area officers responded to the location for a radio call of a shooting.
According to the LAPD, arriving officers were directed to a victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.
The LAPD later learned that the suspect intentionally struck the victim with his vehicle before shooting him, reported the LAPD in a press release.
Key News Network was at the scene of the second shooting, which occurred around 10:30 p.m. that same day in the 800 block of South Brerendo Street in the Koreatown neighborhood of Los Angeles. LAPD Olympic Area officers were directed to a vehicle where a deceased woman was found in the passenger’s seat. She had been shot multiple times, according to the LAPD. LAFD paramedics responded and pronounced the victim deceased.
According to the LAPD, the suspect responsible for both murders walked into LAPD’s 77th Area Station and was identified as 50-year-old Marvin Magana, a resident of Los Angeles. It was unclear from the LAPD press release if he walked into the station late Tuesday or early Wednesday morning.
He was arrested and booked for murder and is being held on $3,000,000 bail. The case was due to be presented yesterday, Oct. 31, for filing consideration at the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
The victims’ identifications are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
