Suspected DUI Driver Arrested After Crashing Into Power Pole

SILVER LAKE, LOS ANGELES, June 13 (KNN) – Police officers arrested a suspected DUI driver who crashed into a pole early Tuesday morning leaving an area of the Silver Lake neighborhood without power.

A Los Angeles Police Department Rampart unit rolled up on a sedan into a power pole on Griffith Park Boulevard, just east of Hyperion Avenue around 2:36 a.m.

Officers reported live high voltage lines down on the vehicle with a solo male occupant trapped inside.

The Los Angeles Fire department responded and safely extricated the driver who was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Power was out in the area due to the collision. It was was not immediatley known how long it would take to restore power.
