Suspected DUI Driver Crashes Car Carrier Into Railroad Crossing Gate in Ventura

VENTURA, Calif., Dec. 19 (KNN) – California Highway Patrol Ventura Area officers and Ventura police officers responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash on SR-118 at Azahar Street in Ventura.

When officers arrived on the scene, they located a pickup truck with a car carrier trailer attached that had crashed into a railroad crossing mechanism. The incident occurred shortly after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The driver was not injured but was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Southbound SR-118 was closed until the roadway was cleared of all vehicles and debris.
