Suspected DUI Driver in Custody After Crashing Off 105 Freeway

Lynwood, Los Angeles County, CA: A suspected DUI driver was taken into custody by California Highway Patrol officers after crashing off the 105 Freeway early Sunday morning.

The CHP and Los Angeles County Fire Department received a call around 12:53 a.m., May 14, regarding a vehicle that crashed off the eastbound 105 Freeway and landed down an embankment near a neighborhood at Thorson Avenue and East Josephine Street in the city of Lynnwood.

The driver initially refused to exit the vehicle and was observed shaking his head and waving his arm outside the vehicle toward responding CHP officers. The driver appeared to be speaking to officers, but it was unclear exactly what he was saying.

After approximately 10 minutes of refusing to leave the vehicle, the subject exited and was quickly placed into custody by CHP officers for suspected DUI.
