SUV Struck by Gunfire on 57 Freeway in San Dimas

SAN DIMAS, Calif., Mar. 4 (KNN) — A Mercedes-Benz SUV was fired upon as it traveled the 57 Freeway Sunday night, according to authorities.

The California Highway Patrol’s Baldwin Park Station received a 911 call at 10:30 p.m. from a victim who stated she was shot at and her vehicle was struck on the southbound 57 Freeway near Via Verde in the city of San Dimas.

The victim was able to drive home to her residence. She was not struck in the shooting, but the vehicle was observed with a bullet hole.

CHP temporarily shut down the southbound 57 Freeway to search for bullet casings. According to the CHP on Monday, no casings were located.

The suspect vehicle may possibly be a silver Ford Taurus, said the CHP. There were no further details regarding the vehicle.
