DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, Aug. 12 (KNN) — An ATM machine bolted to pavement was ripped away by thieves driving a box truck in Downtown Los Angeles early Monday morning.
Los Angeles Police Department’s Central units responded to a call around 2:30 a.m. from the owner of a parking lot at the corner of 12th Street and Broadway reporting that thieves had stolen his ATM machine that was permanently mounted to the ground at the location.
The suspects used the lift-gate from their box truck to pull the ATM out of the ground and fled the scene.
Officers quickly located the box truck in the 1500 block of Essex Street. Pavement was observed attached to the bottom of the ATM.
One of the suspects fled on a bicycle stolen from a transient and was taken into custody nearby.
The other suspect is still outstanding, according to the LAPD.
There are no further details at this time.
