PALMDALE, Calif., Nov. 30 (KNN) — Thousands of dollars worth of jewelry was brazenly taken in a smash-and-grab robbery inside an occupied JCPenney department store in Palmdale late Friday evening.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Palmdale deputies responded to the 1200 block of West Rancho Vista Boulevard shortly before 9 p.m. for a reported robbery in progress at the JCPenney located inside the Antelope Valley Mall.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with several JCPenney employees who advised deputies that multiple individuals had entered the location at the jewelry counter and smashed the glass using a hammer, grabbing various pieces of jewelry.
According to officials, the suspects got away with about $45,000 in jewelry. The store was occupied with customers when the incident occurred. Many shoppers were engaged in Black Friday deals, buying holiday gifts.
No one was injured during this incident.
