Valley Glen, Los Angeles, CA: A driver was killed Tuesday afternoon when a train collided with a vehicle in Valley Glen.
The crash occurred just before 3:30 p.m., May 16, on the 12900 block of Raymer Street near Coldwater Canyon Avenue.
The collision trapped the driver in a mangled vehicle from the impact of the train. Responding firefighters were unable to immediately assess the condition of the patient. Additional resources were requested to the location.
The patient was deemed beyond medical help and determined deceased at the scene.
A reduced number of Los Angeles Fire Department units remained to assist the Los Angeles Police Department with body recovery as needed.
Train traffic was stopped at the time of the crash and for an unknown duration due to the investigation and removal of decedent and vehicle.
The train that struck the vehicle was reported to be no longer at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No further details are available at this time.
