Chino Hills, San Bernardino County, CA: A bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle that was allegedly involved in the incident and located about a mile away involved in another traffic collision in the city of Chino Hills Sunday night.
Chino Valley Fire Department responded to a traffic collision involving a bicyclist at Grand Avenue and the 71 Freeway around 9:42 p.m., Dec. 4. Firefighters arrived on scene and located a male lying in the street not breathing.
Firefighters and paramedics pronounced the person deceased at the scene.
The fire department received an additional 911 call for a second traffic collision just about a mile down from the first crash at Grand Avenue and Spectrum West.
Once Chino Police Department, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Chino Hills Station deputies and Chino Valley Fire Department arrived on the scene, they located a white vehicle with major front end damage and a shattered windshield.
The white vehicle struck the bicyclist and crashed about a mile down from the first scene per a witness.
It is unknown at this time if alcohol or speed was a factor in the fatal crash.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Chino Hills Station will be handling the investigation into the fatal collision with Chino PD assisting.
