Los Angeles Fire Department personnel and the California Highway Patrol responded to a fiery crash Wednesday morning shortly after 2 a.m. in the 2300 block of North Cahuenga Boulevard in the Hollywood Hills area of Los Angeles.

The crash involved a solo vehicle traveling northbound on the 101 Freeway when the vehicle failed to negotiate the Highland/Hollywood Bowl exit.

The vehicle continued straight through the median and into a wall and a home. A parked vehicle in the garage area was also damaged.

LAFD paramedics transported three patients to local area hospitals; two patients were reported with serious to critical injuries, and one with minor injuries, according to the LAFD.

A small dog was also rescued at the scene and was cared for by CHP until animal services arrived.

CHP’s Central Office is handling the investigation due to the fact the vehicle was technically still on the freeway when it left the roadway on the off-ramp, before the collision on Cahuenga Boulevard.
