Vehicle Crashes Off 118 Freeway into Tree, Trapping Driver

Pacoima, Los Angeles, CA: The Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to reports of a vehicle that drove off the embankment from the 118 Freeway westbound near Glenoaks off-ramp early Wednesday morning, Mar. 15, around 12:19 a.m.

When firefighters arrived, they upgraded the response to a physical rescue.

Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free one victim from the vehicle that flew off the freeway and slammed into a tree.

The patient was freed within 20 minutes and transported in critical condition to a local hospital.

California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash that occurred in the Pacoima area of the San Fernando Valley.
