Van Nuys, Los Angeles, CA: An individual living in a tent was critically injured early Wednesday morning when a vehicle crashed off a freeway ramp and rolled into an encampment.
The collision was reported approximately 12:15 a.m., June 7, at the South 405 Freeway Roscoe on-ramp in the Van Nuys area of the San Fernando Valley.
Los Angeles police officers and fire department personnel along with the California Highway Patrol, responded to a traffic collision involving a vehicle that flew off the on-ramp to the 405, and landed on a homeless encampment tent.
One unhoused individual directly impacted by the vehicle, was transported in critical condition by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured. CHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
