Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollenbeck Division officers were involved in a short pursuit of a vehicle that fled from officers attempting a traffic stop just before 12:30 a.m., according to the LAPD. Officers then canceled pursuing the dark-colored suspect vehicle as a safety precaution to the community.

Shortly after canceling the pursuit, officers found the suspect vehicle after it had collided with three parked cars on the 3500 bock of East 8th Street near South Spence Street in the Boyle Heights neighborhood within Los Angeles.

Four people were still inside the vehicle after the collision. Officers requested the Los Angeles Fire Department to respond. LAFD transported all four victims to a local area hospital in various conditions.

The driver was arrested for evading a traffic stop which is a felony, according to LAPD Officer Drake Madison with the department’s Media Relations Division.

LAPD Central Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
