Vehicle Slams Into Building After Exiting 10 Freeway in Pomona; 2 Trapped in Wreckage

POMONA, Calif., Mar. 19 (KNN) — A vehicle exited the 10 Freeway without stopping late Monday night, leaving a path of destruction before slamming into a medical office building in the city of Pomona.

A California Highway Patrol officer from the Baldwin Park office was leaving Pomona Valley Hospital around 11:14 p.m. when he noticed a vehicle come off the westbound 10 Freeway and crash into a building in the 100 block of East Artesia Street.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene and located a vehicle that had crashed into a clinic office with two people trapped inside the wrecked vehicle.

Firefighters and paramedics managed to extricate both patients from the vehicle and transport them to Pomona Valley Hospital located just across the street from the scene of the crash. Their condition is not known at this time.

Pomona Police Department officers were at the scene assisting CHP with the investigation. Pomona PD requested the Department of Building and Safety to respond to the scene.
