Vehicle Strikes Hydrant Sending Water Gushing in Northridge Mall

Northridge, Los Angeles , CA: The Los Angeles Fire Department and Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call of a vehicle striking a fire hydrant with water gushing about 70 feet high in front of Red Robin Restaurant at Northridge Mall located in the 9300 block of Tampa Avenue in the city of Northridge.

Water was seen on the parking lot running towards street drainage. The fire department was able to shut off the water within 20 minutes from time of arrival. No damage was done to the nearby businesses.

Devonshire Police Department was investigating the accident and asked the security guard to view camera footage of the parking structure where the incident occurred. It is unknown at this time if the vehicle fled or stayed at the scene of the incident.
