Vicious Pit Bull Attacks Family Members, 4 Hospitalized

VAN NUYS, LOS ANGELES, Apr. 2 (KNN) — A pit bull pet went on the attack late Monday night leaving multiple family members injured and in need of medical attention.

The Los Angeles Police Department and fire department responded to a call of a vicious pit bull around 10:40 p.m. in the 13800 block of Runnymede Street in Van Nuys.

When units arrived, Los Angeles Fire Department personnel requested more rescue ambulances for the multiple injured victims.

The LAPD told KNN at the scene that four people were transported to the hospital with dog bites, including one child.

Animal services was called to the home, but could not respond because the dog was on private property and requested the homeowners take the dog to the animal shelter.

The circumstances surrounding the attack are unknown at this time.

The LAPD is investigating the incident.
