Water Main Break Buckles Street in Sherman Oaks

SHERMAN OAKS, LOS ANGELES, July 31 (KNN) — The force of a broken water main pushed up a section of roadway in Sherman Oaks early Monday morning.

Los Angeles Department of Water and Power crews responded to the intersection of Magnolia and Norwich Avenue for reports of a broken water main around 4 a.m.

Water was observed erupting onto the street, flooding the intersection from the ruptured main below the surface. Part of the roadway buckled from the pressure of the broken water main.

The amount of time it took LADWP crews to fix the break is unknown.
