Water Main Break Floods Residential Street, Front Yards in South Los Angeles Neighborhood

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 22 (KNN) — A ruptured water main broke through asphalt overnight on a street in the West Adams neighborhood of South Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the 2800 block of South Wellington Road around 3:11 a.m. where a broken water main was spewing gallons of water into the roadway and flooding front yards of homes closest to the break on the residential street.

Firefighters confirmed the break in the roadway and notified the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power of the incident.

DWP personnel responded to the location and began working to shut off the flow of water. It is unknown how long crews worked to accomplish the task.
