At approximately 8:11 p.m., La Habra police officers responded to the area of Imperial Highway and Idaho Street regarding a stolen vehicle that had just occurred, according to the La Habra Police Department’s press release of the incident.

Officers arrived at the location and found the vehicle occupied by one person. The suspect immediately rammed a police vehicle with an officer inside, stated the press release. A pursuit ensued of the stolen vehicle suspect who was now also wanted for an assault with a deadly weapon with a vehicle.

The suspect led officers on a chase in the direction of the city of Corona, where the suspect again rammed officers, according to the La Habra PD.

The suspect fled the damaged work truck after driving the wrong way at one point on the 91 Freeway,

The suspect ran across the freeway and into a Denny’s restaurant on the 1800 block of West Sixth Street and the 91 Freeway, where a standoff between officers and suspect ensued.

A police K-9 was brought into the scene and eventually bit the suspect apparently on the arm from an injury observed on the handcuffed suspect surrounded by officers and fire department personnel outside the restaurant at the end of the standoff.

Steven, who was working at Denny’s and taking an order from the only customer in the restaurant, told Key News Network the suspect ran in and flashed a gun, then ran out the back. He said the cops came in right after her.

Steven said the suspect appeared to be a female. “She was panicking, like all hysterical, and went to the back.”

After further investigation, La Habra PD identified the suspect as Niqwayzh Green, a 26-year-old female resident of Los Angeles who is currently on parole for burglary. Green is in custody for assault with a deadly weapon, possession of stolen property, evading and a parole violation.
