Wilmington Traffic Collision Leaves Hydrant Sheared, Structure Damaged

WILMINGTON, LOS ANGELES, May 7 (KNN) — A two-vehicle traffic collision involved a hydrant and building damage in Wilmington overnight.

Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Harbor Division and Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to a collision just after 1 a.m., involving two vehicles at the intersection of Anaheim Street and Hawaiian Avenue.

One of the vehicles, a white Dodge Charger, sheared a fire hydrant before crashing into a structure at the northwest corner of the intersection.

All involved parties were evaluated and released by LAFD at the scene.

The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety was requested to assess the damaged structure.

LAPD’s South Traffic is handling the investigation into the cause of the crash.
