Woman Exposed to Heavy Smoke Hospitalized After Apartment Fire in Mar Vista

MAR VISTA, LOS ANGELES, Jan. 16 (KNN) — A female occupant of an apartment that burned Monday evening was transported to the hospital with smoke inhalation.

The Los Angeles Fire Department, assisted by neighboring Culver City FD, aggressively attacked flames in a three-story apartment building over parking in the 3700 block of South Sawtelle Boulevard in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Westside Los Angeles. Firefighters extinguished the flames in just 11 minutes, according to the LAFD.

The adult female occupant of the apartment involved with fire, was transported to a local hospital by LAFD paramedics in fair condition following her exposure to “copious smoke from the fire”, reported the LAFD.

Cause of the fire is under investigation. There were no other injuries reported.
