WESTLAKE, LOS ANGELES, Apr. 15 (KNN) — A woman was found fatally shot in the Westlake neighborhood within Central Los Angeles early Monday morning.
The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call of a shooting just before 2:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Lucas Avenue.
Arriving officers located a woman lying on a sidewalk curbside at the location. Initial LAPD information at the scene indicated the woman had been shot in the head. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and pronounced the woman deceased.
Officers placed a privacy tent over the covered body as the investigation began into the fatal incident.
Officer Cuellar, spokesperson for the LAPD, said the woman was between 30-40 years old and was not homeless. It is unknown at this time if the shooting is gang related.
There is currently no suspect information.
