Workers Chase Stolen Caltrans Truck From Freeway Construction Zone in Central Los Angeles

PICO-UNION, LOS ANGELES, Sept. 12 (KNN) — California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) workers chased a man who stole one of their vehicles Wednesday morning from a construction zone on the 10 Freeway in the Pico-Union area of Central Los Angeles.

A male suspect stole a Caltrans pickup truck shortly after 3 a.m. at the 10 Freeway and Vermont and fled the location. Caltrans crews chased the suspect in their vehicles to the intersection of West Pico Boulevard and Menlo Avenue, where they blocked him in with their vehicles.

Los Angeles police officers responded to the location, where the suspect was immediately detained.

No one was injured during the short Caltrans pursuit, and their vehicle was recovered.
