Wrong-Way Car Crash Into Box Truck Leaves Driver Dead in Covina

COVINA, Calif., Dec. 19 (KNN) — A car crossed over lanes, traveling the wrong way when it slammed into a box truck, killing the driver shortly before 2 a.m. Thursday.

California Highway Patrol officers, Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department deputies and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a traffic collision with one person trapped at North Lark Ellen Avenue and East Cypress Street in the city of Covina.

Firefighters and paramedics pronounced the female driver of the car deceased at the scene. Per multiple witnesses, the vehicle was traveling northbound and crossed over to the southbound lanes, crashing head-on into a box truck.

CHP will be taking over an investigation into the fatal crash.
