Sylmar, Los Angeles, CA: A vehicle slammed into a Caltrans forklift in a work zone on the 210 Freeway killing one of three occupants in the vehicle early Saturday morning, Oct. 22, in the Sylmar neighborhood of the San Fernando Valley.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the 12:47 a.m. reported collision on the westbound 210 Freeway east of Roxford Street where arriving crews located a vehicle that had crashed into a Caltrans forklift at a highway work zone.
LAFD reported a total of three adult males with one deceased and trapped in the vehicle. The others were both 30-year-old males, one of whom self-extricated prior to LAFD’s arrival.
The other male was briefly trapped in the vehicle before being freed by firefighters, LAFD reported.
Both patients were transported by LAFD paramedics to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the fire department.
No Caltrans/construction workers were injured.
