1 Killed in Traffic Collision on 10 Freeway

Pomona, Los Angeles County, CA: One person was killed in a traffic collision on the 10 Freeway early Thursday morning, Jan. 5, in the city of Pomona during a winter rainstorm that drenched the Southland.

California Highway Patrol officers and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a traffic collision around 5:15 a.m. with one person reported on the ground, possibly ejected from a vehicle, eastbound on the 10 just before the 57 Freeway.

Once officers and firefighters arrived on scene, they located a total of two vehicles and a semi truck, and one person unresponsive on the rain soaked No. 3 lane of eastbound 10 Freeway.

Firefighters and paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

CHP had all traffic diverted off at the north and southbound 57 Freeway from the eastbound 10 Freeway. A SigAlert was issued for an unknown amount of time.
