LANCASTER, CA, Aug. 13 (KNN) — A head-on traffic collision left two people dead and multiple others injured Sunday afternoon.

At approximately 12:43 p.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a traffic collision on Avenue E, between 50th and 60th Street East in the city of Lancaster.
Upon arrival, deputies along with California Highway Patrol officers discovered two vehicles that were involved in a head-on collision with multiple victims ejected.
Firefighter/paramedics from numerous stations responded and pronounced two deceased at the scene with one patient in critical condition and three victims with minor injuries.
All injured parties were transported to Antelope Valley Medical Center via AMR ambulances.
The cause of the collision is currently unknown. The scene was locked down to allow for investigation.
