Westlake, Los Angeles, CA: Two toddlers were found in a gunshot victim’s vehicle and another man was in grave condition after a shooting Tuesday night, Aug. 30, in the Westlake neighborhood of Central Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Police Department Rampart Division officers responded to an alley in the 1900 block of West 6th Street across from the Jack in the Box. Officers arriving at the scene located a gunshot victim, approximately 20 years old, down in the alley at 11:15 p.m. Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded and transported the victim to a local area hospital in grave condition.
After transporting the first victim, a white sedan was located in the alley by officers with the driver suffering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder in stable condition. After searching the vehicle, two toddlers were located inside – one boy and one girl, approximately 1-3 years of age.
A suspect vehicle was reported leaving the area after the shooting, but no further information is available at this time. The second victim with the gunshot wound was also taken into custody for unknown reasons.
The children were uninjured and taken to Rampart station by LAPD officers to meet with the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).
The shooting is under investigation.
