Los Angeles, CA: Detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Traffic Division are investigating and searching for information regarding the driver and vehicle involved in a severe injury hit-and-run collision in Downtown Los Angeles.

The incident occurred on May 25, 2022 around 2:00 a.m. near the intersection of 12th Street and Central Avenue in the Downtown area of Los Angeles. According to the LAPD news release, the pedestrian was struck by an unknown make and model SUV. The driver fled the scene without rendering aid and identifying himself or herself.
LAPD said the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the pedestrian to a local hospital where he was admitted for severe injuries.
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $25,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
