70-Year-Old Killed in Rancho Park Hit-and-Run Collision; Detectives Search for Driver

RANCHO PARK, LOS ANGELES, Apr. 16 (KNN) – Detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division are seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver of a vehicle who left a man fatally injured as he was crossing a street in the Westside neighborhood of Rancho Park late Monday night.

According to the LAPD’s news release regarding the incident, a 70-year-old Los Angeles resident was crossing Westwood Boulevard, just north of Exposition Boulevard, outside a crosswalk around 10:35 p.m., when he was struck by a speeding dark blue Mazda hatchback that fled the scene.

Emergency responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived and attempted lifesaving measures; however, the victim was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene.
