Teachers Remember Slain Sheriff’s Deputy

STEVENSON RANCH, CA, Sept. 18 (KNN) — They considered Ryan Clinkunbroomer as one of their own. Teachers Jennifer Overdevest and Alison Hunsaker reflect on the many years the slain Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy spent as one of their most memorable students at West Ranch High School in Stevenson Ranch.

“I think all of those qualities that made him an outstanding young man made him exceptionally well-suited to be an outstanding sheriff, the kind of person who connects with the community, who cares about the people and the community that he serves.”

As two communities search for answers amid tragedy, Ryan’s teachers are striving to share with those who didn’t have a chance to meet him.
