Lancaster, CA: A driver fled the scene of a two-vehicle traffic collision leaving their crashed car on top of a sheared, gushing hydrant.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lancaster Division responded to calls regarding the collision around 6:07 p.m. Tuesday, Apr. 5, at Avenue I and 30th Street East in the city of Lancaster.
Upon arrival of the deputies and fire department, two vehicles were located with severe damage, and one was laying on top of a sheared hydrant. The driver of the black vehicle fled the scene in an unknown direction and the driver of the white vehicle was treated at the scene by paramedics from Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Lancaster Sheriff’s deputies remained at the location to process the scene. The Water District was notified to respond and shut off the water from the sheared hydrant. The cause of the traffic collision is unknown at this time.
