LOS ANGELES, Nov. 7 (KNN) — An apparent water main break caused water to flow down a canyon hillside prompting closure of Mulholland Drive in the Beverly Crest neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Police Department was dispatched around 10:48 p.m. Monday to a road hazard in the 11000 block of Mulholland Drive.
Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) personnel arrived before police officers, and observed a mudslide covering both east and westbound lanes in the 8600 block of Mulholland.
Water flowing from below homes located in the 8600 block of Edwin Drive appeared to be causing the debris flow down to Mulholland.
LAPD officers arrived at the scene and assisted the LADOT in shutting down Mulholland Drive in both directions.
Mulholland was closed at the time of this incident at Skyline to the east and Bowmont to the west.
The Department of Water and Power responded to the location and searched the area for the source of the waterflow.
