MALIBU, Calif., Nov. 9 (KNN) — A brush fire erupted in Malibu early Thursday morning threatening a home and prompting a response from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The LACoFD was dispatched around 12:20 a.m. to the scene of a five-acre brush fire in the area of Abbadie Lane and Little Las Flores Road.
A two-story home was reported to have been lost in the blaze.
Crews were making an aggressive attack with water-dropping helicopters to contain the flames.
A red flag warning is in effect through Thursday due to gusty winds and low humidity which are fire hazard conditions for many areas prone to brush fires.
