LOS ANGELES, Nov. 30 (KNN) — A male Hispanic in his late 20s was shot multiple times resulting in his death early Thursday morning in the El Sereno neighborhood within the eastside region of Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollenbeck Division patrol units responded to an “assault with a deadly weapon” call shortly after 3:30 a.m. in the 5000 block of East Huntington Drive, according to the LAPD.
Workers at a nearby business advised LAPD of a large amount of gunfire at the location.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a male down on the sidewalk, not conscious and not breathing. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the victim with CPR in progress. He was pronounced deceased upon arrival at the hospital.
According to the LAPD, the victim was shot multiple times when two armed suspects approached the victim.
In the aftermath of the shooting, numerous shell casings were observed scattered on the ground marked by LAPD officers at the scene.
It is unknown at this time if the shooting is gang related, said the LAPD.
