Reported Explosion Leads to Discovery of Burned Human Remains in Lancaster

LANCASTER, Calif., Dec. 12 (KNN) — Burned human remains were discovered at the location of an outdoor fire near a storage facility Monday evening in the city of Lancaster.

At approximately 6:04 p.m., firefighters with the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to an explosion at the intersection of Division Street and Avenue K-4.

Lancaster sheriff’s deputies also responded to the scene at Cube Smart Storage and discovered an outdoor fire with human remains.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department dispatched the bomb squad who arrived on scene shortly after to investigate the incident.

The coroner arrived on scene to remove the body at around midnight. No further details are available at this time.
