Big Rig Jackknifes on 405 Freeway to I-5 Transition Road in Sylmar

SYLMAR, LOS ANGELES, Dec. 20 (KNN) — A big rig jackknifed on a rain-soaked transition road from the 405 Freeway to I-5 early Wednesday morning in the Sylmar area of Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Fire Department along with the California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a jackknifed big rig at 3:38 a.m. on the northbound 405 Freeway to the northbound I-5 transition road.

When crews arrived, they found a full-size tractor trailer that had impacted the left side wall of the freeway and came to rest blocking lanes 1, 2, and 3.

The driver of the truck sustained a gash to the head and was treated by firefighters at the scene.

CHP had lanes closed and requested heavy duty tow.
