Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Pickup Truck in Santa Clarita

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. Dec. 22 (KNN) — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a pickup truck Thursday evening in the Canyon Country neighborhood of Santa Clarita.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision at approximately 5:39 p.m. in the 16500 block of North Sierra Highway and Arline Street.

Upon arrival, firefighters located the pedestrian who was later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated with the California Highway Patrol.

Per CHP, northbound and southbound lanes of traffic were blocked. CHP officers were searching the area for camera footage.

There is no further information at this time.
