The Los Angeles Fire Department was dispatched shortly after 2 a.m. to the 2800 block of North Division Street for a structure fire. When crews arrived, fire was through the roof of a movie studio that was well involved in flames.

The LAFD reported that it took just 84 minutes in mostly defensive operations to access, confine and extinguish heavy fire in an 11,129 square foot one-story industrial building housing a media production and event space known as L.A. River Studios.

A public event, possibly a wedding, had just concluded at the site when the fire erupted, according to the LAFD. All attendees and staff safely evacuated the facility.

Firefighters remained at the scene into the morning hours to extinguish hotspots.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under active investigation.
