Officers requested help around 11:48 p.m. for an “officer down” who had been assaulted at the Metro Station on the 5300 block of Lankershim Boulevard.

Multiple units from LAPD’s North Hollywood Division responded along with the Los Angeles Fire Department to the location. A suspect was immediately taken into custody.

The officer was evaluated by LAFD paramedics and transported in stable condition to a local area hospital from the platform level. He suffered a broken leg in the assault and was released from the hospital Friday, said LAPD’s Media Relations Division.

It is currently unknown which LAPD division the officer is assigned to, but he was working the MTA for his shift, according to the LAPD.
