SOUTH LOS ANGELES, Jan. 4 (KNN) — Firefighters battled a greater alarm structure fire early Thursday morning in the University Park neighborhood within South Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to reports of smoke and fire coming from a two-story building shortly before 2:30 a.m. on the 800 block of West Adams Boulevard.
Arriving firefighters immediately began defensive firefighting operations against heavy fire showing on the second floor front section of a vacant 150′ x 200′ two-story commercial building, reported the LAFD.
At 4:17 a.m., 92 firefighters achieved knockdown, according to the LAFD. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
