Bakersfield, Kern County, CA: A suspect fled the scene of a shooting leaving the victim wounded in the roadway next to a vehicle late Friday night in the city of Bakersfield.

Just before 11:00 p.m. Apr. 15, a shooting was reported at McKee Road and South H Street. The victim was located down in the roadway next to a white BMW SUV with shattered glass.

Bakersfield Police officers arrived and rendered first aid to the victim until Kern County Fire and Hall Ambulance arrived at the scene. The victim was transported to Kern Medical with moderate injuries.

The suspect was a black male that fled in a white sedan heading eastbound on McKee Road.

The incident is under investigation.
