Los Angeles, CA: An injured hiker in Griffith Park was rescued, treated at the scene and transported to a local area hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department firefighter/paramedics late Friday night.

LAFD was dispatched to a reported injured hiker on the Griffith Park trails near the observatory around 11:08 p.m. Friday, Apr. 15, 2022.

The hiker suffered from an ankle fracture and was unable to self extricate. LAFD worked to locate the injured hiker, splinted the ankle and transported the individual down the hill. LAFD then transported the patient to a local hospital for further medical treatment.

A city of Los Angeles Park Ranger was on the scene providing support and investigating the incident.
