Elysian Park, Los Angeles, CA: A hiker was rescued on Sunday, Apr. 24, after the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call around 5:52 p.m. for a stranded hiker just off the Elysian Park trails located within the Elysian Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Upon arrival, LAFD found a young, adult female approximately 10 feet down hanging on to the steep cliff of an approximate 130 foot drop.
The first concern for firefighters was to secure the patient to prevent additional falling. After securing the patient, LAFD personnel were able to rescue the hiker via a hoist operation and treated her for minor injuries at the scene. It was unclear if she was transported to a hospital for further evaluation.
LAFD Air Ops also responded to the scene.
