Preliminary information suggests a private jet crashed while attempting to land at Scottsdale Airport.

The jet careened off the runway and collided with a stationary aircraft in front of the Southwest Jet hanger.

The Scottsdale Fire Department confirmed five people were involved in the collision.

One person was pronounced deceased, two were transported to local trauma centers, one was transported in stable condition, and firefighters were actively working to extricate an additional patient from one of the involved aircraft.
