EL MONTE, Calif., Apr. 2 (KNN) — One person was found ejected, and a total of two patients were transported to hospitals after a vehicle flew off the freeway, overturned, and landed in a riverbed below shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Los Angeles County firefighters, El Monte police and California Highway Patrol officers from the East Los Angeles Area station responded to a traffic collision involving a vehicle that came off the 10 Freeway at Santa Anita Avenue and landed in a riverbed in El Monte.
Upon arrival, emergency responders found a vehicle overturned in the riverbed, with one person ejected from the car. Two individuals were transported to a local hospital; their conditions remain unknown.
The cause of the vehicle’s departure from the freeway is currently unclear, and investigators are investigating whether speed or alcohol caused the crash.
The CHP will handle the investigation and has requested evidence related to the incident.
